Insufficient Definition of the Concept of Value as an Important Problem of Ethic in Social Work

Abstract:
The paper deals with an insufficient definition and elaboration of basic concept of value ethics, i.e. the concept of value itself. Its definition is very vague and theoretically underdeveloped. The authors document this situation with some quotations. Then they present main exponents of philosophical streams dealing with values (e.g. Lotze, Brentano, Scheler, Marcel, Hildebrand, analytical ethics etc.) and they suggest the possible foundation for subsequent discussion that could improve the situation of the value discourse in the ethics of social work.
