Social Economy – Space for Social Work

Abstract:
Social economy and civil sector represent an important space for social work. This is so due to the activity of various nongovernmental organisations. They complement or replace the state as the main provider of social care to less well-off persons. In our article we show the ways in which the NGO’s are able to provide social care to different social groups. We concentrate mainly on a new type of institutions working in the NGO field – social co-operatives.
