The Standards of Quality and Social Work in Social Services

Abstract:
The article tries to attract attention of social service organisations’ managers as well as frontline workers to possible usage of the Quality Standards of Social Services published by the Czech Ministry of Work and Social Affairs in 2002 in implementing social work activities into the practice of their organisations. The author defines social work activities and pays attention to the specific Quality Standards regulations which recommend using of social work activities as an instrument of reaching social services’ goals. He quotes the results of two case studies of selected social service organisations to present obstacles that hamper using of social works activities in social services. Based on these results he proposes possible changes in role-structure of the respective organisations.
