Supervision in social work in Slovakia

Abstract:
This article surveys the issue of supervision in the context of social work in Slovakian conditions. Social work is a separate discipline of the humanities or a set of more disciplines, which came into existence in a need to help people. The realization of this activity brings a natural necessity of supervision and its study. At present the term supervision became common mainly in assistant areas like psychotherapy and a social work. Supervision plays in social work a mediating role that improves work, precedes problems, brings alternative methods, etc. Supervision is also consultancy, which exists in order to increase and secure greater quality of professional activities or the competences of social workers.
