Conditions of Education in Socially Excluded Romany Families and Prevention

Abstract:
In this essay, author explore the question: “Are the conditions of education in socially excluded Romany families contribute to potentional delinquent behaviour of Romany youth?” The study is based on 17 qualitative interviews with professionals who are involved in working with socially excluded Romany delikvent children and their families. A theoretical background of study proceeds from the following concepts: (1) social exclusion; (2) living situation and (3) youth delinquency. The study is part of a larger research project aimed at analyzing different aspects of the living situation of socially excluded Romany families, with the goal to formulate adequate social work strategies to battle Romany social exclusion.
