Development of the Potential of Clients with Schizophrenia through Social Work
Eva Procházková
Abstract:
Schizophrenia is generally perceived as a psychotic illness and is characterized by abnormalities in thinking, perception, emotion and behaviour, that negatively influence the quality of life. If we concentrate on the potential of schizophrenic individuals in more detail, we can reveal some remarkable connections between schizophrenia, increased creativity and spiritual inclination. Through the use of knowledge of creative potential theory, transpersonal and spiritual theory applied to social work with metally ill, we can attempt to change a point of view on this illness and extend an offer of social services and approaches. Keywords:
