Different Approaches to Social Work Education
Jitka Navrátilová
Abstract:
The article deals with the education of social workers. Through applied research I am looking for answers which of approaches to social workers education were adopted by selected ASVSP schools. Special attention is given to understanding of ways of integrating practical education into whole teaching. I try to find whether schools use evidence-based, competency or reflective approach to learning. Survey results should help formulate new knowledge that could help (the schools) to understand how to educate and raise awareness about possibilities of application of approaches in the preparation of social workers. Keywords:
practical and theoretical social work education, evidence-based approach, reflective and competency based approach
