Intercultural Competence as a Factor of Culturally Competent Practice in Social Work

Abstract:
The study focuses on the current trend in social work with culturally different people, with a focus on intercultural competence of social workers. The author focuses on the definition of intercultural competence, its development and components of key competencies, which should have a social worker in the context of culturally competent practice. Subsequently, the author presents criteria of communication appropriateness, effectiveness and adaptability, which may serve as evaluation criteria of interculturally competent behavior.Keywords:
